Arsenal set asking price for 25yo after rejecting €27m offer

Arsenal have set their minimum price to consider Jakub Kiwior’s sale this summer, with the defender currently likely to remain in north London.

Polish journalist Tomasz Wlodarczyk of Meczyki.pl was the reporter who broke the news of Arsenal’s move to sign Jakub Kiwior back in January 2023, and he now reports that discussions have taken place this week regarding Kiwior’s future at Arsenal.
The situation reportedly remains unchanged, as the Gunners are happy with Kiwior. The most likely outcome this summer is that he remains at the club.
Ever since the defender’s performances in the Champions League tie against Real Madrid, it’s been clear that the club would want a significant fee to sell.

Wlodarczyk reports that Arsenal would only consider offers for Kiwior exceeding €35m (£30.3m), having already turned down one bid for less than that.
According to the claims, FC Porto submitted an offer of a loan with a mandatory purchase clause at the end of July.
The loan fee would have been €7m with a €20m purchase fee next summer, for a total of €27m. Given Arsenal’s €35m+ valuation of Kiwior, the bid was rejected.

Given the injuries to Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes, Kiwior has had substantial involvement in Arsenal’s pre-season so far.
It’s unclear whether that will continue when everyone is fit, but it’s certainly no bad thing to have a strong backup when the alternatives are struggling with injuries.
